Cleanse. Skincare guideline. Ilu Hub - Natural & Organic Skincare Products & Makeup
Daily AM & PM

WHY IT’S IMPORTANT?
Regular facial cleansing is crucial for removing buildup of dirt, oil, pollution, and dead skin cells, which can lead to breakouts and dull skin.

Clearing your skin of impurities is also about giving your skin the breathing space it needs to rejuvenate overnight and enhancing the effectiveness of skin loving ingredients.

HOW TO APPLY?
Use a gentle cleanser suitable for your skin type to effectively cleanse without stripping natural oils.

WHICH PRODUCTS?
Choose a product that resonates with your skin’s current state and desired outcome.

Milk/Cream Cleanser
Ideal for all skin types, particularly dry and sensitive. It’s gentle yet effective, often capable of removing eye makeup while nurturing your skin.

Gel Cleanser
Best for oily skin and those with larger pores. Gel cleansers create a light foam that deeply cleanses and removes excess oils without over-drying. Avoid gel cleansers with harsh surfactants that create bubble bath on your face.

Oil Cleanser
A luxurious choice for dry, lipid dry and sensitive skin, preparing the skin by removing all compressed oil and debris from the surface without stripping oils from the natural reserves. We recommend using oil cleanser in conjunction with cream/milk cleansers as pre-cleanse.

Cleansing Balm
Especially beneficial for dry and sensitive skin types, it serves as a second cleanse, providing a hydration boost when needed.

Enzyme Cleanser
A cleanser suitable for all skin types, gently exfoliating and rejuvenating the skin, giving you a vibrant glow. Works best as a morning cleanser for a gentle yet deeper cleansing experience.

TIPS
If you’re wearing a lot of make-up, we recommend to double cleanse to thoroughly clean your skin. Make sure firstly to remove your make-up with cleansers designed for it (check the product labels and recommendations).

Much loved micellar water is not a cleanser. Use it as a second cleanser/toner.

Hydrating Toner
Ideal for most skin types, especially those needing extra hydration. It replenishes moisture and prepares the skin for further treatment.

Balancing Toner
Perfect for combination, blemished or oily skin types. It helps regulate oil production, calm inflammation and refine pores for a smoother appearance.

Soothing Toner
A gentle option for sensitive skin. Calms irritation and reduces redness, setting a serene base for your skincare ritual.

Refining Toner
Suitable for most skin types, except very sensitive skin. Contains mild enzymes or peptides promoting cell renewal and a brighter complexion.

TIPS
We recommend to avoid alcohol based toners.

Toners should leave your skin feeling fresh and hydrated not dry and stretched.

1-2 times a week AM or PM

WHY IT’S IMPORTANT?
Regular exfoliation removes dead skin cells, preventing blemishes and revealing fresh cells.
Masks provide deeper ingredient infusion, offering benefits like hydration, pore refinement, and improved texture.

HOW TO APPLY?
You will get the best results when once or twice a week first use exfoliant after cleansing and then apply face mask per your skin’s needs.  You can also apply exfoliant and mask separately on the same or different day.

WHICH PRODUCTS?
Choose a product that resonates with your skin’s current state and desired outcome.

Manual  exfoliation / Scrub
Exfoliating scrubs combine light exfoliation & skin cleansing ingredients that gently buff away dry skin to reveal a softer, more hydrated complexion.

Enzyme peel
Composed of fruit enzymes that digest dead skin cells while simultaneously nourishing the skin to reveal a brighter, healthier complexion. The best part of enzyme peels is they are gentle enough for sensitive skin, require zero downtime, and yield immediate results.

Chemical peel
Containing fruit acids, chemical peels penetrate to the deeper dermal layers and effectively removes excess dead skin cells and speed up skin cell turnover to improve skin texture, reduce fine lines, and help with discoloration.

2in1 scrub + mask
Scrub + mask seamlessly blend the benefits of exfoliation with nourishment or the rejuvenating effects of a resurfacing mask.

Calming mask
Calming masks immediately softens and soothes the sensitive and sensitised skin, alleviating redness and sensations of discomfort. After extended sun exposure, it acts as the ultimate moisture boost, replenishing and rejuvenating the skin.

Deep cleansing mask
Purifying masks are designed for normal to oily skin, working to detoxify, de-congest, and brighten a dull complexion. However, they typically contain blood-stimulating actives that may not be suitable for sensitive skin.

Hydrating mask
The hydrating mask is designed to elevate hydration levels and calm dry, damaged skin. It serves as the ultimate moisture boost, especially during colder seasons, after prolonged sun exposure, or while working in a dry, AC-regulated environment.

Nourishing mask
The nourishing mask is tailored to those seeking intense hydration and restoration for their skin. It’s a perfect choice for replenishing the skin’s moisture barrier and promoting a healthy, radiant complexion for dry or mature skin types.

Refining mask
The refining mask is ideal for refining skin texture and achieving a smoother, more balanced appearance, particularly for mature or blemished skin. Enriched with clinical actives targeting various skin concerns.

TIPS
For sensitive skin, opt for enzyme-based peels or cleansers.

Facial masks are an excellent way to give your skin the extra boost it needs.
Repair. Skincare guideline. Ilu Hub - Natural & Organic Skincare Products & Makeup

Daily AM & PM

WHY IT’S IMPORTANT?
Serums and elixirs are crucial for reversing damage caused by environmental factors, aging, and daily stressors to heal, strengthen, and fortify your skin’s natural barrier.

Vitamins, antioxidants, peptides, and other specialized ingredients in serums and elixirs penetrate deep into the skin, addressing multiple concerns and aiding skin repair.

HOW TO APPLY?
Apply serums or elixirs after cleansing and toning or exfoliating and masks while the skin is still a bit damp from the toner.

WHICH PRODUCTS?
Choose a product that resonates with your skin’s current state and desired outcome.

Soothing serum or elixir
The soothing serum is specially designed for sensitive or irritated skin, providing gentle relief and hydration and helps restore balance and comfort to the skin. Recommended for sensitive skin, use this serum after exposure to harsh environments, intensive skincare treatments, or during redness and inflammation.

Restorative serum or elixir
The restorative serum typically includes a blend of potent ingredients that work synergistically to hydrate, nourish, and repair the skin, helping to reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and other signs of aging. Packed with powerful antioxidants to help protect the skin from further damage caused by environmental stressors, promoting overall skin health and vitality.

Anti-aging serum or elixir
Typically infused with peptides, vitamins A, C, and E, hyaluronic acid, and botanical extracts in anti-aging serums work together to improve skin texture, reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, enhance skin firmness and elasticity, and prevent premature aging.

Pigmentation serum or elixir
To prevent and treat pigmentation, seek out serums containing either or a combination of vitamin A, B, C, licorice extract, or beta carotene. These components work synergistically to inhibit melanin production, promote skin cell turnover, and brighten the complexion, resulting in a more even and radiant skin tone.

Hydrating serum or elixir
Typically formulated with hyaluronic acid and glycerin, hydrating serum is designed to assist skin suffering from a lack of free water and dehydration, leaving the skin feeling soft, smooth, and hydrated.

TIPS
If the skin barrier is impaired (dryness, itching, inflammation), using hyaluronic acid can have the opposite effect, exacerbating dehydration and further compromising the skin’s condition.

Apply serum or elixir to your skin when it’s still damp from toner.

Moisturise. Skincare guideline. Ilu Hub - Natural & Organic Skincare Products & Makeup

Daily AM & PM

WHY IT’S IMPORTANT?
Moisturisers feed and strengthen the skin’s lipid barrier, sealing in moisture and nutrients. They prevent moisture loss, combat aging, and ensures your skin retains its natural elasticity and radiance.

HOW TO APPLY?
Apply a moisturiser suitable for your skin type in upward strokes to the face and neck.

Apply the eye cream gently using your ring finger to avoid pulling or stretching the delicate skin around the eyes.

Night creams can be used for overnight repair and hydration.

WHICH PRODUCTS?
Choose a product that resonates with your skin’s current state and desired outcome.

Balancing moisturiser
Lightweight moisturiser is tailored to oily and combination skin to help maintaining hydration levels without exacerbating shine or congestion, leaving the skin feeling balanced and refreshed.

Calming/Repairing moisturiser
A calming and restorative moisturiser for sensitive or compromised skin (experiencing redness, irritation, or dryness) repairs and strengthens the skin barrier after exposure to harsh environmental conditions or aggressive skincare treatments. Typically, consists of gentle, soothing ingredients that help to calm inflammation, hydrate the skin, and promote healing.

Anti-aging moisturiser
An anti-aging moisturizer typically consists of potent ingredients such as vitamin A and C, hyaluronic acid, peptides, botanical extracts, and clinical actives. These stimulate collagen production, promote skin cell turnover, and reduce the appearance of wrinkles, addressing various signs of aging, including fine lines, wrinkles, loss of firmness, and uneven skin tone.

Deep moisturising/Nourishing moisturiser
Typically, a deep moisturising/nourishing moisturizer consists of rich, emollient ingredients that help to hydrate, soften, and protect the skin. Best suited for dry or dehydrated skin, or those seeking intense hydration and nourishment. It’s especially beneficial during colder months or in dry climates.

Hydrating moisturiser
A hydrating moisturizer is most suitable for those without any particular skin concerns but who need a daily dose of hydration to maintain the skin’s moisture balance for a healthy, radiant complexion.

Menopause
During menopause, the skin often undergoes significant changes, including increased dryness, loss of elasticity, and a decrease in collagen production. Therefore, it’s essential to choose a deep nourishing moisturizer that keeps the skin hydrated while also incorporating clinical actives (such as vitamins, peptides, and potent antioxidants) to slow down aging.

Face oil
Typically, a face oil  consists of a blend of natural oils that are rich in essential fatty acids, antioxidants, and vitamins to provide deep hydration, nourishment, and protection to restore balance and vitality to the complexion.

Eye Cream
Use an eye cream when you want to address specific concerns, like fine lines, dark circles, or puffiness. Avoid applying any eye cream on or near your eyelids; it should be applied on your cheekbone and eyebrow bone with light pressure.

TIPS
Face oil doesn’t replace your moisturiser. For extra nurishment apply face oil after the moisturiser.

Moisturiser is still essential for oily skin, as it helps regulate oil production.

While rosehip oil is rich in essential fatty acids, antioxidants, and vitamins, it lacks the high concentration of oleic acid that is most beneficial for very dry or mature skin types. However, due to its excellent anti-inflammatory benefits and high amount of antioxidants, it is widely used in face oil blends.

Protect. Skincare guideline. Ilu Hub - Natural & Organic Skincare Products & Makeup
AM

WHY IT’S IMPORTANT?
Protecting your skin from sun and environmental damage is crucial to prevent premature aging, sunspots, wrinkles, and skin cancer. UV rays can damage collagen fibers and affect skin elasticity.

HOW TO APPLY?
When you’re exposed to sun during the day apply sunscreen or BB cream after moisturising that offer a barrier against environmental aggressors.

WHICH PRODUCTS?
Good sun protection:
  • offers broad spectrum protection from sun burn
  • contains an oil soluable antoxidant to reduce oxidative stress
  • offers protection to skin barrier defence system
  • exhibits an anti-ageing protection profile
  • exhibits a vitamin replacement profile (vitamins A, C & E)
  • enhances the skins own sun protection system

When choosing sun protection, ensure the product offers protection against both UVA and UVB rays.

For prolonged sun exposure, always use sunscreen providing protection against UVA and UVB rays. Moisturizers or BB creams with SPF alone are insufficient.

For brief sun exposure, such as spending up to 20 minutes outdoors, using just BB cream or moisturizer with SPF may provide adequate protection.

TIPS
You are exposed to UV rays even on overcast days, while driving your car, or sitting in proximity of a window.

Using a 2-in-1 moisturizer with sunscreen may not be the optimal choice, as you could miss out on the full benefits of both products. It’s best to apply moisturizer first and then sunscreen separately for maximum effectiveness.
